Ant-Man and the Wasp is coming out in just a few weeks – in the US, at least.

Fans in the UK are used to getting their Marvel Studios movies a day or two earlier than their Stateside friends, but the people at Disney have decided the Brits have to wait an entire month for the size-changing superhero sequel.

Stars Evangeline Lilly and Paul Rudd aren’t happy about the gap, because impatient fans will end up watching the film illegally in rubbish quality.

“They always do that,” the Wasp actress Lilly told Empire magazine of the late release.

“Then what happens is people just pirate the movie and they see it in the worst way possible, like some shitty version online, instead of going to a theatre.

“They go in the end, but I don’t like that staggering. I’m really going to get to the bottom of this for you. I’m as pissed off about it as you are.”

Rudd added: “I don’t understand. Let me see if we can maybe get the World Cup moved.”

Good luck with that Paul, people really love their football, even though people constantly complain about the performance of the players (as if they could do any better).

Ant-Man and the Wasp releases in UK cinemas on August 3, while the US gets it on July 6.

While being a superhero on the big screen is a pretty cool thing, actually wearing the costumes themselves can be a bit difficult, and that includes Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp suit too.

Lilly’s Wasp suit is pretty impressive from a design standpoint, but evidently, it is also as comfortable as superhero costumes get, at least in the MCU, something Lilly revealed in a recent interview with NDTV.

That said, Sony and co. weren’t finished showing off the game, in fact they were nowhere near finished. Today, the pair revealed over 10 minutes of raw gameplay footage, and more importantly footage that shows off the first boss fight.

It’s important to note that while the presser footage debuted the first boss fight in the game, this new footage — taken right out of the E3 floor demo — showcases the first boss fight in actual gameplay footage. And as you would expect, it looks really, really good.

In addition to Spidey dishing out justice to a bunch of faceless enemies, we also see him going head-to-head with Shocker, who seems more so than some other villains, to play an integral role in the game. He isn’t the main bad guy or even the head bad guy, but he has prominently been shown off so far in a variety of outfits and forms.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is poised to release on September 7th, exclusively for the PS4. You can read more about the game below:

Disney Parks have officially announced that a special sneak peek at Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp will begin to screen for guests at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, CA from June 8 to July 15, 2018.

The footage for Ant-Man and the Wasp will be shown on rotation at the Tomorrowland Theater, which is currently home to Star Wars: Path of the Jedi. Both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park have had sneak peeks at Marvel films such as the first Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy and Doctor Strange.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is the latest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that reunites audiences with Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) as they work together as Ant-Man and the Wasp respectively for a brand new mission. The film is expected to address the fallout of Avengers: Infinity War and give audiences an explanation as to why this titular duo was absent from the events of that film.

Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man and the Wasp stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Michael Peña as Luis, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, Judy Greer as Maggie, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster, Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch, Hannah John-Kamen as the Ghost, and Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne.

Ant-Man and the Wasp will be released in theatres on July 6, 2018.

Evangeline Lilly, who stars as the Wasp in Marvel’s upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp, revealed that she flayed the skin off both of her forearms during a stunt that went wrong several years ago on the set of Lost. “There were open wounds, pus-y and oozing,” she said during a panel discussion Wednesday night on the Fox lot about women in the stunt business. “I looked like a mutant. My mom said, ‘You’ll never be able to wear an evening gown again!’”

Lilly also made it clear that the accident was no accident, accusing an unnamed stunt coordinator — who she described as “misogynistic” — of punishing her for defying his wish to have a stuntwoman do the stunt. It involved rolling off a thick tree branch high above the ground and hanging on for dear life, though there was no risk of falling because she was safely harnessed to the branch.

Ant-Man And The Wasp

Lilly said she asked to have moleskin – a light fabric used to prevent abrasions – wrapped around her forearms, but the coordinator said no. “They’ll see it,” he said, though she was sure it wouldn’t show on screen. So she did the stunt bare-armed – over and over and over again. And each time the rough bark ripped off more of her skin. And after each take, New Skin – a liquid-bandage brand – was painfully applied to the wounds, and then the coordinator would send her back up the tree to do it again and again and again, each time more painful than the last.

“I felt it was him saying, ‘I’m going to put you in your place for standing up to me,’” she said. “It was either cow to his power or hurt myself. I was in my 20s then. Now, I would probably back down.”

Injuries are part of the job, though rarely are they intentional. A more common complaint by stuntwomen is the discrimination they face on the job – or not getting jobs at all.

Lilly was joined onstage by Ingrid Kleinig, her Ant-Man and the Wasp stunt double, and by three other stuntwomen, who among them have more than 75 years of stunt experience. They’ve rolled cars, fallen 80 feet through fire, rappelled down buildings and worked on some of the biggest action films produced in recent years.

But Deven MacNair said her most risky move has been speaking out against “wigging,” the age-old practice of stuntmen donning wigs and women’s clothes to double for actresses. And she’s done more than just complain – she alerted her union and filed an EEOC complaint. She was accompanied to the event by her attorney, Brenda Feigen, who’s trying to get more stuntwomen to come forward to file a class-action lawsuit.

“That was my greatest stunt,” MacNair told the audience, noting that speaking out has hurt her career. Wigging, she said, “robs us of our pension and health, robs us of the experience we need to get the next job.” Then she pointed in the audience to veteran stuntwoman Julie Johnson, who MacNair said “has been fighting this since the 1970s.”

Ant-Man and the Wasp is due out in roughly two months, so let’s steal some time from Avengers: Infinity War posts to talk about the upcoming film. We know that Ant-Man and the Wasp will deal with the fallout from Captain America: Civil War where Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) became a fugitive as he was on Team Cap. We also know that Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) will finally suit up as the Wasp who is Ant-Man’s partner. We also know that Ghost will be the villain and the Quantum Realm will be explored in more detail in this film. What struggle will Hope have in the film though? Turns out she has a case of I-don’t-need-a-partner-itis.

We saw this a little in Ant-Man. She was training to take over for her father Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) before he decided to hand the shrinking suit to Scott. She was resentful for a good part of the movie, going on about how she should be the one in the suit and she should be the hero. It sounds like once she suits up as Wasp, she may start seeing no point in teaming up with Scott. CinemaBlend spoke with director Peyton Reed who said this:

“Well, the movie is absolutely about Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne, and Hope becoming Wasp… and their relationship is a little fractured… I think for Hope particularly, the question is out there: ‘Do I need this guy in my life? I’m a fully formed hero in my own right, do I need a partner?’ That was really a fun kind of premise to start from.”

It’s not a terribly original story, but it’s understandable since we’ve seen the character deal with similar feelings before. It’s also an interesting twist since the “new” hero is usually not the one not wanting a partner. I’m excited to see this film!

Ant-Man and the Wasp will hit theaters July 6, 2018.
